Effect Pigment

Effect pigments are platelet‑based pigment engineered to manipulate light through reflection, refraction, and optical interference rather than simple color absorption.
They are typically composed of mica or synthetic silica flakes coated with metal oxides (such as TiO₂ or Fe₂O₃), forming optical stacks that create pearlescent, interference, and color‑travel effects depending on viewing angle and layer thickness.
These pigments provide shimmer, depth, and dynamic color shift, and are used in decorative coatings, resin systems, and specialty finishes where visual movement and optical complexity are desired rather than opacity.
